Chipotle's responsive online ordering
A responsive redesign for Chipotle's online ordering. Focused on scaling group orders, simplifying checkout, and letting one host manage meals for the party.

Group orders that scale
Chipotle built its brand on personality and purpose: an irreverent voice and a commitment to real ingredients, what they simply call "Food." Its online ordering needed a simple but scalable multi-order structure.
One host, the whole party's meals
I collaborated on web and mobile layouts within Chipotle's existing brand framework, focused on the responsive ordering bag: a group ordering platform that let one host manage an entire party's meals through a single checkout flow.
Up to 60 guests, never overwhelming
The goal was a platform where one person could manage orders for up to 60 guests without it feeling overwhelming. That meant designing for clarity, hierarchy and control at every step.
How a group order comes together
A bag that scales with the group
An early single-column "Zebra Stripe" bag, alternating light and dark rows, worked at small scale but created sensory overload under a full group load. I proposed a bag that scaled with the group: one column under four orders, a two-column tile layout at four or more, each tile expanding for details and collapsing to reduce clutter. Tabs for In Bag, Pending and Declined told the host exactly where each guest stood.
